Ms office files download as read only






















 · Actually, I should have said that the files close as read only. I am using Office and storing our files in the cloud; Sometimes when open the file it has “Read Only” but not usually. About 4 weeks ago created a new folder hidden and only accessed and seen by mangement. Two days later all files in folders on shares became read-only. Even with new folders created, files cannot be saved to new or old folders. All users have read write execut permissons. All files in folders do no show as read only and alll permissons look correct. When opening Office files, you may experience files are opening as read-only unexpectedly. This issue most commonly impacts Excel and Word in Version (Build ) or later. Sometimes this issue manifests after you attempt to sync a document that requires check-in on OneDrive. Upon opening the file in Word or Excel, the file opens.
